In medieval times (476-1572 AD) music art was mostly used for the benefit of Christian activities. Opera and ballet developed in this era. Famous composers of this era are Ludwig van Beethoven and Franz Schubert. At the end of the romantic era, orchestras developed dramatically and became the culture of urbanites.
